A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931 in the small village of Tamil Nadu, whose name is Dhanushkodi. In this village, he lived with his joint family. The economic condition of his family was not correct. His father used to rent boat to fishermen and his mother was a homemaker.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Sahib started his education from an elementary school of Rameshwaram. Kalam Sahib started the work of selling newspaper for his studies and financial support of the house.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam completed the twelfth Schwartz Higher Secondary School located in Ramanathapuram. Thereafter, he enrolled at St. Joseph College to obtain a Bachelor Degree, which is located in Tiruchirappalli. But their education was not ended here, they were very fond of reading and learning. He went to Madras in 1955 for further studies from where he graduated in Space Science in 1958.

His dream was that he could become a pilot of the Fighter Plane in the Indian Air Force, but he could not complete it, but still he did not give up.

After this he entered the Indian Defense Research and Development Institute (DRDO) where he successfully undertook the Hovercraft project. But due to not satisfied with his work in DRDO, he left it.
After this, he entered the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in 1962.

A.P.J. in ISRO Abdul Kalam successfully undertook several projects, the most important of which was the establishment of India’s first satellite “Earth” which can also be called SLV3 near Earth’s orbit.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam did very hard work in 1980. After his success, India also became a member of the International Space Club. In this period, he was appointed as ISRO Director for the project of India’s satellite launch vehicle project.


During ISRO’s tenure he achieved more achievements such as the visit of NASA, together with the famous scientist King Ramanna, to design India’s first nuclear test, guided missiles.

After all, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a successful and well-known scientist. In 1981, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. In 1982, he again became the Director of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Now he focused his attention towards the indigenous target piercing controlled guided missiles.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1990. He was then appointed as the Defense Advisor to the Minister of Defense in the period from 1992 to 1999, and was also the Secretary of Security Research and Development Department.

Seeing his contribution to India in 1997, he was awarded Bharat Ratna. Under his leadership, India conducted its second successful nuclear test in 1998. It is the only responsibility of Kalam that India has succeeded in building nuclear weapons. In this period he was India’s most famous and successful nuclear scientist.

Looking at the respect of the people of India in 2002, seeing the achievements of life and his attachment to India, N. D.A. Declared him the presidential candidate. Consequently, he emerged victorious in the elections in 2002 as President of India. They were addressed as “the President of the People” (People’s President).
During this tenure he addressed several meetings in which he emphasized the need to improve the future of India and the youth living here.

We all know that A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a simple and disciplined person in his personal life. They used to have a lot of affection for children, they always taught them to help improve their future.

He was not a political person, but by staying in politics he used to think about the development of the country. They knew that better development of the youth can lead the country ahead. He wanted India to be known as a major force in the field of nuclear weapons.

He said that “In the history of 2000 years, India has ruled over 600 years for others.

If you want development, then there is a situation of peace in the country and peace is established by power.

For this reason the missiles were developed so that the power of the country is complete. ”

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s tenure ended in 2007. After this he worked as Professor in many places like Indian Institute of Management of Shillong, Ahmedabad and Indore, and in the Indian Institute of Science of Bangalore.

After that he was Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Anna University. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam also contributed to many other famous educational institutions in India.

It happened at the time when he was giving a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. He was given a tribute on July 28 in Delhi and on July 29 in Madurai.
On July 30, he was buried with full honors in the P Karumbu Ground of Rameswaram, his city, and more than 3,50,000 people came here to pay homage to him.
